Once you have your CANSAIL 2 you are able to purchase a sailing school pass and take out the 420s when they aren't being used by the sailing school. If you haven’t done your Cansail levels with us you will need to book a private lesson prior to purchasing the pass. For more info please contact Alexa (9024122590) OR headinstructor@bbyc.ca)
SAILORS are able to purchase this for summer 2021, if they contact ALEXA prior to purchasing.
Requirements - Cansail 2 & Supervision (Sailors under the age of 16)
Wetfeet Monday-Friday 8:30-3:45
This program runs from the whole day 8:30-3:45 Monday-Friday for one week.
Wetfeet is designed for sailors ages 5-8, who are looking to gain the basics of sailing and get comfortable on the water. This is a full day, week-long course If you choose to enroll your student. Lunchtime supervision is provided.
This program runs from 8:30-4:00 Monday-Friday for two weeks.
Intro to Opti is a program for sailors who are under 115 lbs and over 9 years old, and are new to sailing, or have some sailing experience. This two-week program will provide them with the basics of sailing, and get them comfortable handling a boat by themselves.

This program is designed for sailors who are over 115 lbs, and are new to sailing, or have some sailing experience, example, those who have done intro opti. This two-week program will provide them with the basics of sailing, get them comfortable handling a boat by themselves and achieve their cansail levels!
For ages 12 and up, contact me for questions relating this, I may let some younger ones in based off experience and size.
This programs runs every afternoon from 1-3:30 for two weeks. *Lunch is not provided for this program*
This programs is rather new and aims to give young sailors perspective about sailing on bigger boats.
This program is an introductory program for keelboat sailing. This courses introduces the basics of keelboat knowledge and the fundamentals of sailing. They will go over rigging, parts of the boat & sail, the fundamentals of sailing and lastly, while learning all of this, they will be sailing around the Bedford Basin.
This course is two weeks long and runs from 8:30-4:00 Monday-Friday.
Sailors must have their Cansail 2, and will get a chance to work on refining their skills before joining our Race Team. This is also perfect for sailors who aren’t sure if racing is for them, and just want to get out on the water and work on more advanced skills and have FUN with their friends.
This year both our Opti and 420 Race teams will have a bit more structure, this is why we are asking sailors to commit to a month or two months of race team. Both the Opti and 420 Race Teams will focus on training and preparing for the regattas of the 2021 season.

Get Sail Canada certified! We offer a Cansail program for adults! Here you will learn the basics of sailing, gain confidence on boats and get your levels. This program is a month long, and meets twice a week for 3 hours. The class sizes are small, so it is very hands on learning. This program is taught on our 420s. We do need a minimum number of participants to run this course, so you will be refunded if we do not have enough participants. *please note you need to pay the annual admin fee. **there is a student discount, you must provide valid student id and will be refunded the discount.

This is Sail Canada's program for learning to sail on Keelboats, and our instructors are certified through Sail Canada to teach this course. Gain hands-on experience, with small class sizes. This program is taught on BBYC's J24 fleet.
